چکیده

Dynamic differential evolution (DDE) for shape reconstruction of perfect conducting cylinder (PEC) buried in a half-space is presented. Assume that a conducting cylinder of unknown shape is buried in one half-space and scatters the field incident from another halfspace where the scattered filed is measured. Based on the boundary condition and the measured scattered field, a set of nonlinear integral equations is derived and the imaging problem is reformulated into an optimization problem. The inverse problem is resolved by an optimization approach, and the global searching scheme DDE is then employed to search the parameter space. Numerical results demonstrate that even when the initial guess is far away from the exact one, good reconstruction can be obtained by using DDE.

Comparison of Dynamic Differential Evolution and Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization for Inverse Scattering of a Two- Dimensional Perfectly Conducting Cylinder

─ The application of optimization techniques for shape reconstruction of a perfectly conducting two-dimensional cylinder buried in a slab medium is reported in this paper, for which comparative study of four population-based optimization algorithms are conducted. The method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) is employed for the analysis of the forward scattering part, while the inverse sca...

Inverse Scattering of an Imperfect Conducting Cylinder Buried in Three-layer Structure

The imaging of an imperfectly conducting cylinder buried in a three-layer structure by the genetic algorithm is investigated. An imperfectly conducting cylinder of unknown shape and conductivity buried in the second layer scatters the incident wave from the first layer or the third layer. We measure the scattered field in the first and third layers. Based on the boundary condition and the recor...

A Cwa-based Detection Procedure of a Perfectly-conducting Cylinder Buried in a Dielectric Half-space

The electromagnetic scattering problem of a short-pulse plane wave by a perfectly-conducting circular cylinder, buried in a dielectric half-space, is solved by means of a cylindrical-wave approach (CWA). The incident plane wave may have a rather general shape in the time domain. The technique is applicable for arbitrary polarization, for any cylinder size and burial depth, and it gives results ...

Based on the boundary condition and the measured scattered field, a set of nonlinear integ...

Time-domain Inverse Scattering of a Two- Dimensional Metallic Cylinder in Slab Medium Using Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization

This paper presents asynchronous particle swarm optimization (APSO) applied to the time-domain inverse scattering problems of two-dimensional metallic cylinder buried in slab medium. For this study the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) is employed for the analysis of the forward scattering part, while for the APSO is applied for the reconstruction of the two-dimensional metallic cylinder bur...
